A very special spot at Luana Spa Retreat is our 12’ by 14’ traditional Hawaiian hale (thatched house). Built of stone and wood and palm leaves, lashed together without the use of nails, the hale was constructed by local master craftsmen just as native Hawaiians have done for centuries. Situated under rustling coconut trees, with a panoramic view of Hana Bay and the soothing sounds of birds and ocean waves, the hale provides a unique and spectacular site for intimate weddings and other special ceremonies. With the availability of overnight accommodation in a delightful yurt and a variety of spa services for the wedding party, Luana Spa Retreat provides a complete wedding destination for those who want an experience that is extraordinary. For a special celebration, full service on-site catering both before and after the ceremony is also available, as well as entertainment by talented local musicians who can provide live traditional Hawaiian music for the ceremony or dinner to enhance your experience.

You may choose from our wedding packages, as well as a la carte services. A basic wedding includes one night in the yurt and the ceremony in the hale, including officiant and decoration with tropical flowers. The deluxe package includes an additional night and a 60 minute couple’s massage in the hale during your stay.

We have a wonderful wedding officiant on staff who can work with you to provide a custom non-denominational ceremony reflecting your wishes. Other officiants are available as well.

More extensive floral decorations are available, and leis can be provided by the local flower shop. You can order what you like and we will pick up and deliver to you at the hale.

Professional photography and video services are available locally and can be arranged to suit your needs.

One of our personal chefs can prepare and serve a beautiful candlelight dinner for 2 in the hale, or serve a private dinner for up to 30 people in our open air café area.
